To start off 2017, i've started to experiment with new forms, in hopes of achieving something infinite, timeless and out of this world...
Thanks to Peter Oesch, Angel Wang and Adam for an awesome launch on Philippine shores.. till the next time..
it takes time, travel, nature, practice, love and patience...
i was one of 5 ceramic artists chosen from Asia and the sole Philippine selection to represent the "Kohler Bold. Art. Asia 2015" art campaign. the exhibition will travel 6 countries and will be a permanent collection of Kohler. The 2 pieces i created are "Time" and "Manunggul"
the Bulol sculptures have become modern, as i make a change to something new.
"Earth and Fire" installed at Linda's home, thank you! 2 of 8 panels visualizing the destruction of the Earth from the effects of natural disasters..
Thank you Louis Katz for these photos of how to skin a ceramic drum, with the help of Kim at The Workhouse Arts Center
my new works explore coil built Bulol figures in a position of offering. balance, peacefulness, and belief are expressed in these works. they are then carved with designs inspired by ali bata script.
i've been working with 'balance' in my latest works. how to make a piece stand despite movement in different directions. testing the limits of the clay. kim has also been working, she recently made a bust of 'Roja' as a ballerina..
